    Keg O-ring lube?

I'm just curious what everyone's go-to food grade lube is. I assume that using some on the o-rings of a corny keg will make a difference?

    Solitary brewer ?

Just started brewing. My first one, a stout, was solo. My second, in secondary now, is an IPA that my 22 year old son helped me with. My third will be an amber, that my wife wants to help out with. Life is good.

How much does a full corny keg weigh do you think?

I got snipped back in the day myself. I was back to normal in three days. As far as lifting, ask a buddy to come over for a bit to help. No need to risk hurting the twins.

Secondary in corny keg not sealing, problem?

Good to hear. Thanks for the responses. :) Next time I'll blow in a bit of CO2 to get a good seal.

Secondary in corny keg not sealing, problem?

Correct. I'm not hooked up to gas. Just trying to secondary. I had not thought of blowing in a little CO2 to seat the lids... It never occurred to me. I was just hoping that the one that is leaking slightly through the lid will not affect any flavors of the beer or have any adverse effect.

Secondary in corny keg not sealing, problem?

Morning everyone I just recently transferred my second brew ever, an IPA, to corny kegs for secondary & dry hop. When I pull the bleeder valve, one has obviously sealed, the other... nothing. I believe that the lid is not getting a good seal. Is this a concern at this stage? I planned to let...

My brother delivered two more corny kegs and a thermometer today. My third keggle, cut & welded, will be delivered Tuesday. :)

I am very new to brewing & very new to BS. I only have played around with it since purchasing it. Free upgrade to 3.0! :)

Add ginger to my secondary? How long?

So... after a bit of reading, I decided to add 2 ounces of fresh ginger to one of my 5 gallon secondarys. I put it in a Muslin bag, peeled and diced, with a shot glass to weigh it down. I soaked it in vodka for a few minutes. I am going to leave it in there for the two week secondary. :)

What came in the mail for you today?

Very new to brewing, so I have got a ton of stuff over the last few months, but just went and picked up a couple of snap lock storage containers to keep stuff dust (and cat hair) free.

Add ginger to my secondary? How long?

Hello all. I just transferred my first ever beer (a ten gallon batch of stout) to secondary, into cornys. I am planning on letting it sit in those for about two weeks. I am really wanting to incorporate ginger into a beer. My wife loves ginger beer. I have been reading about adding fresh...

Brewed my first beer - chilling takes a long time

Congratulations on your first Brew. I just did my first recently too and loved it. As said above, you will really like an immersion chiller. I cooled my 10 gallon batch in 15 minutes flat.

    Am I overthinking this?

I have a 15.5 gallon beer keg that I am going to have two 1/2" couplers welded into. One for a ball valve, the other for a thermometer. My question is: Should I screw the thermometer into the coupler, and mark on the coupler where I want 12 o'clock to be, so that I can orient the thermometer...

Brewed for the first time yesterday!

After what seems like forever, I brewed for the first time yesterday. It's stout recipe that my buddy put together for me. All grain. My brother showed up in the morning with my new keg that he got welded up for me. I think it turned out pretty nice. A couple of pictures from the brew.
