So I'm still relatively new to kegging and am expanding my setup from a single keg to two corny's but as I'm piecing together the manifold and tubing I realized that on kegging day I will have some issues.
I currently bring my CO2 tank, regulator and single tubing assembly in to the house so I...
So I finally did it. Wrapped up brewing a Citra/Cascade session IPA last Friday and what do I see when I'm cleaning up...the Whirlfloc tablet...WHOOPS!!!
I've been legitimately curious of the merits of Irish moss since I took up this addictive and time devouring hobby several years ago. This...
I know the process for rehydrating a single packet. What I'm asking is the process for two packets? Do you double the volume of water (8oz), rehydrate the two packets separately or go with the same volume I would use for a single packet (4oz)?
I'm brewing a Cranberry Saison tomorrow with a predicted OG of 1.080 so I'm going to use 2 packets of Belle Saison dry yeast.
I'm planning on rehydrating as usual but I've never done this before with two packets of dry yeast. Should I double the amount of water because I'm using two packets or...
I’m at the local Applebee’s and ordered a Wolf Pup which is a session IPA by Golden Road Brewing in LA that should pour crystal clear.
I was presented with hands down the cloudiest beer I’ve ever seen. I asked the server and she agreed to have the bartender pour me another. Again, cloudier...
No purpose other than looks. It’s the same reason that after brewing I wash and scrub my stainless brew kettle like it’s a French prostitute.
I’m a vain man, man.
Been using my WilserBrewer bag for over 20 batches now (shout out to Wilser) and I've stained the living turd out of the thing.
It's an amazing bag and is showing no signs of wear other than the brownish hue it has adopted.
Any tips on how to restore this bad boy to it's former glory, is it...
A very interesting, but in retrospect predictable development to report.
I always bottle 12-14 22oz bombers every time I bottle that I save for myself and never give out. In my bottling process I always bottle the bombers first them move on to the 12oz bottles. The previous samples I was...
I've never had a beer develop this much carbonation in 4 days before, but it wasn't fully carbed. A lot of the foam is due to this style of beer having so much protein haze and hop oils. But I'm glad I had 2 bottles on day 4 as they were absolutely delicious. Used 1318, OG was 1.060, FG was...
Day 8 post bottling.
Aroma is starting to fade slightly. Not much change in color but noticeable oxidation starting to creep in. Bittering hops are much more prominent now due to the aroma hops fading. It's already gone from a great beer to just a good one. I'm stunned by how quick this beer...
Day 6 post bottling.
Aroma is still intoxicating. Color looks the same but may have darkened slightly. I'm picking up a faint hint of oxidation but this could be due to me drinking a Two Hearted clone before I cracked this one open.
Will update again in 2 days.
Aluminum is fine but be careful what you clean it with. Many people on this forum use them. Just don't use oxygen based cleaners or caustic cleaners (ie. Oxyclean or PBW).
