    You may choose plastic or glass to bottle. Plastic does provide some safety. Those who sell the products will be quick to discourage glass bottles for soda.     You have several options. You can use sarsaparilla root. Anise, Licorice root. Molasses. Wintergreen dried leaves. Vanilla. Birch. Clove. Browse the dry/bulk section of a health natural food store. The blog sodamancy has a virgils clone recipe that Does not use sassafras.
