    Won't the boiling point be much lower at higher elevation? I heard somewhere that 212 is the boiling point at sea level.

    Question about Corkers

    I just got a capper attachment, but having trouble with changing the bell. the 26 is supposed to unscrew... does it? I took the cylinder out of the attachment and I can't see how to get the darn thing apart. Anyone with special knowledge of how this works, please share. You are smarter than I am.

    Citrus zest for Belgian white - dried vs real fruit

    We have a Belgian strong dark ale in primary right now... used the outer rind from 2 fresh oranges, plus coriander and cardamom. Hope we didn't use too much coriander, but it didn't seem overly flavorful or fresh. The coriander and cardamom did come from the LHBS (but not the oranges!).

    Thank you! This puts my revised OG at about 1.130 . The yeast is loving it. Right now the airlock activity is 2-3 bubbles per second.

    We mixed up a 3 gallon batch of the semi-sweet recipe from the Jack Keller site. We fit 18 grapefruits worth of pulp, plus some skins, and a few raisins, in a "small" nylon straining bag, no problem. We will pitch the yeast tomorrow.     Thanks for the advice. I will extract the juice and pulp without pulverizing it. Instead of using a straining bag, could I just re-rack it and strain it sometime during the first week?

    Has anyone been to the Dutch Gold store? I keep meaning to go by there, but it hasn't been convenient for me so far. I don't live very far away and I have relatives in the immediate area of Dutch Gold.
