So as the weather is getting warmer and last years mead is running low I'm looking for a few good recipes with rose hips. maybe with cinnamon and/or fruits and something on the sweet side (not apposed to dry). If any of you might have recipes or suggestions that would be awesome.
1 gal. Six ghost cherry (super hot pepper experiment - Awesome taste, but has an acid re-flux feel after the fact) Fantastic for those worst enemies.
5 gal. oak cherry
2 gal. traditional (honey)
3 gal blueberry
0.5 gal mixed fruits w/ cinnamon
2 gal cherry w/spices
2 gal blood orange w/ spice...
I thought they were, thanks. I would love to check it out. website looks good. Being fairly new to brewing and more or less an occasional brewer you guys may be way out my league. lol. Hate I missed seeing this weekends comp. though.
Hey, Hope this thread gets some new life. I live in West Columbia and been brewing for about 3 years. beers and meads are my thing. Are there any stores that cater to brewers other than Bet-Mars?
Yeah I'm not a big fan of the traditional honey mead. I'd check around liquor stores and see if any of them carry a variety of meads. Total Wine is the only one around here that has it. (Which is why i make my own.) But you either love it or hate. I also use it as a mixer.
Cool. I didn't think it would be a problem but best to ask. I'm guessing that goes with fruits too. Say let sit for less than 14 days. I more concerned about separation over time. But as long as i stir in well it shouldn't be a concern. Not that any of this will last that long as it goes quick.
Hello,
New guy to the forum here. So I have a question about adding Honey. If I have already pasteurized my brew can I still add honey to sweeten to taste? If so is there any down side?
To explain I've been making 1 gallon batches and recently acquired my fathers 5 gallon jugs and made a batch...
