Kegerator - condesation on the tap faucets

Yeah, if i didn't mention it before, I live in VA (humid) and the kegerator is in the garage. The condensation really isn't surprising, was just wondering if it was par for the course, and it seems like it is :)

Kegerator - condesation on the tap faucets

Thanks everyone. Sounds normal, just wanted to confirm. And yeah, I definitely understand that cold faucets means the beer is staying cold / cool all the way up to the first bit that comes out during a pour, which is a good thing :) I keep my kegerator pretty cold, so I'm guessing it's just...

Kegerator - condesation on the tap faucets

I'm having some fairly heavy condensation on my kegerator faucets (outside of the fridge). Not surprising really--they are cold from the heat transfer through the shanks and it's warm / humid outside. Is there any way around this other than just trying to insulate the outside of the faucets...

    Show us your Kegerator

The small-ish kegerator we have now is getting upgraded :D. Scored this fridge for a decent price, sourced some new shelves yesterday for fairly cheap also. Looks like I should be able to fit 5 kegs + CO2 down on the bottom, shelf for glassware up top, and then shelf space for other stuff in...

    Hygrometers - Spill the beans!

I have gone through a couple batches now and I'm realizing that I definitely need to be using my hygrometer more than I have been--need to check OG to ensure that enough fermentation will occur and need to check it along the way / at the end to ensure everything has gone according to plan...

Brand New Idiot--about to go off the deep end :)

Whoops--busy weekend. Kegerator more-or-less is built, kegged our IPA today: :)

Fridge / Freezer Conversion to Fridge-only?

That looks great! What did you do exactly to get everything to work as needed? Obviously cut the floor out of the freezer (not an issue, really).

Brand New Idiot--about to go off the deep end :)

Well, keg parts ordered. IPA will most likely be kegged this weekend. Whisky barrel stout is in the first fermenter.

Fridge / Freezer Conversion to Fridge-only?

Bump? So far, research seems to be saying that if I try to control the whole thing with one thermostat that the compressor will be kicking on / off way too often? This might be one of those "just not worth it" scenarios...maybe just roll with what I have for now and keep an eye out for a...

Brand New Idiot--about to go off the deep end :)

A friend and I are getting into brewing. He did a batch on his own that turned out to be undrinkable--and honestly I've only ever poured one other beer out, but his was number two :p (FWIW I think it was just old ingredients and the beer was doomed from the start). Since then, we brewed a...

Fridge / Freezer Conversion to Fridge-only?

Thanks, I'll definitely look into that--guessing it's just a standalone thermostat of some sort? The fridge isn't quite full-sized. It's like an apartment sized fridge/freezer. That being the case, I don't think it will ever be used for anything but a kegerator / beer fridge so whatever is...

Fridge / Freezer Conversion to Fridge-only?

Hey folks. First post here. A friend and I are getting into brewing with our second batch (an IPA) now in the second fermenter. After the first round, we pretty much decided that we would prefer to keg our beer moving forward. I stumbled across a free top-bottom fridge/freezer combo...
