- Typical start by making all extract and moving on to all grain, buying the least expensive equipment at first and then buying better but more expensive hardware. I used a Coleman as a mash tun but now having a big enough steel brew pot BIAB is the way to go. I've been concentrating on IPAs and Pale Ales and I made exactly 2 lagers which were good but I'm still focused on the ales.
