    Returned to brewing

I've received a cider kit for a birthday present after putting my buckets in the loft a few years ago. I've just put the brewing sugar and contents of the tin in the brewing bucket and plan on transferring either to a pressure barrel or to a second bucket. The reason I don't always transfer to...

    Realised I forgot to prime.

I had a moment of clarity, and realised that several months ago when sealing my pressure barrel I forgot to add any priming sugar. That being said, there was a very small amount of gas from some slow activity. The beer which is ginger flavoured brown ale \ bitter is nice but flat. I...

    Bought this job lot

The funny thing is I opened the yeast and it looks good. It says on the pot it is for wine making and brewing, so is there such a thing as a "general" yeast? It is dried into small balls which looks dry and it smells.... "yeasty" yeah LOL What about Yest Nutrient. (Diammonium Phosphate with...

    Bought this job lot

Hi all, I bought the following items off a wine brewer in the hopes there was some steriliser in the bucket, but the steriliser was empty. I do, however, have all this wine brewing kit and it is all just about to go out of date, so I am curious... has anyone used any component of this stuff...
