12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

This is a great thread and project! I just joined homebrewtalk a couple weeks ago, so this is a new concept to me. Do you guys only allow all grain brewers to participate? I like Mosher's book but opt for the mini mash recipes, as I haven't prioritized the space for an all grain setup. If so...

    What are you drinking now?

Three Weavers DIPA out of Torrance, CA. They're not my favorite, but very good, and Torrance is really not far from me.

    200gal limit

Everything I've read has stated that it is not legal, but I think it was a thread on this site where someone had reached out to BATF and received a green light on freeze condensing, though it seemed that the word condensing vs. distillation was key in receiving that feedback. Probably just an...

    200gal limit

As I have maintained throughout the thread, I think the point is moot, other than a debate of legal terms, but I do love a good debate of legal terms. I think as others have stated, a 200gal limit is peanuts compared to what is professionally produced, so even 300 or 400 wouldn't raise the...

    Distilled water

I only drink distilled or RO water. That's what I've used for brewing. In LA, I would never use the tap water to brew or cook with. After drinking these types of water for a long time, tap water has a definite chlorine flavor, and really doesn't taste good. I have yeast nutrient but often forget...

    200gal limit

Thanks everyone for chiming in! Some salient points there to latch onto. It doesn't seem like many are even close to the 200gal limit so a completely moot argument, but I'm glad everyone was willing to play along. Probably the points that make the most sense - no ones coming after a homebrewer...

    200gal limit

Thanks for the reply, grampamark! I appreciate the disclaimer. I also am not a lawyer, and just hope to hear what people are doing in their own homebrewing setups. Are you brewing 200gal combined of beer and wine in a year? I know I don't. To be fair, I've never come close to brewing 200...

    200gal limit

Hey gang, This is my first post here, so hopefully I'm in the right sub-forum. I have been researching a freeze condensation product but it led me to some interesting legalese about homebrewing in general. I knew about the 200gal limit, but the way the CA law reads, it says "the aggregate...
