I was at Hill Farmstead this weekend and pondering the same thing myself (actually enjoying the Citra Single Hop right now).
Shaun Hill describes his goal when brewing is creating "rounded, polished" beers with no sharp edges (some Beer Advocate article). I think this roundness ties very close...
