    Hello World

Welcome, you’ve come to the right place.

Would anyone ever brew (BIAB) a small batch (1.5 gallons) of barley wine? Maybe an old foghorn clone?

I love barleywines and don’t believe they are as inaccessible as many seem to think. I have brewed 2 , one 1 gallon and one two gallon, batches and both beers were excellent. I do not agree with aging the beers for long time periods. I saved one bottle out and aged for a year, each batch, and...

Need help troubleshooting a purchased, previously used, PLC system

Silly question. Does it seem like the firmware downloads correctly? Here’s the manual if it helps. https://store.ezautomation.net/v/vspfiles/pdf/ez3series_manual.pdf

    Mesquite bean beer

Do you know the sub-species of mesquite you are using? I think my backyard tree is a South American variety and not suitable for use. I assume that sugar mesquite should be excellent, but really don’t know. Knowing what you’re experimenting with would help either identify a species that is...

Is there a better alternative than the Italian bucket spigots?

I use a racking syphon starter for racking from my pot to fermentor, from my fermentor to bottling bucket and from bottling bucket to bottles (with bottling wand).

I do think your beer will be excellent. Please let us know how it comes out.

To me the bitterness of the wort isn’t like the end result after the beer has fermented, meaning hop bitterness in beer is much more pleasant. That’s the one criticism that I would offer. If you’re going to throw all the hops in at once, I would throw them in at 10 minutes to the end of the...

Thanks for the video. Really good judgement on those things that can be left out to facilitate a quick and simple brew.

Name That Skyline - Picture Game

You know it was very nice and that veranda was off the hook. In this pic you can see my reflection in the building across the street. The veranda I’m standing on is the length of the picture. The only complaint I had was there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room.

Yessir, taken by me on the 23rd floor veranda from the historic Warwick Hotel, one of the hotels frequented by The Beatles back in the day.

I don’t think too easy. If you had the Opera House then way too easy. Very fun, thanks!

I’ve never been, but was able to research the observation tower. Nice cropping or it would have been far too easy. I’m sure I got it, Sydney, but I’ve been sure before and missed, so I’ll wait for confirmation.

I’d do it. Nothing crude of course, but tasteful and a little playful 😂

    Low ABV Sparkling Mead.

By finishing high I mean started at 1.059 finished at 1.021 (hydrometer). The seltzer was still excellent tasting and the ABV was reasonable at 5.5% after carbonation. So I’m a little gun shy with the nutrient. I also am a little nervous about infection and want to heat the must (is that the...
