Building a Zombie Dust clone with Galaxy Hops. First non-kit brew

That's what I was thinking too. I was just going to do 5oz, but the guy at the store said "The more the better!" I don't think he was trying to get me to buy a bunch, seeing an ounce was only $1.75

Building a Zombie Dust clone with Galaxy Hops. First non-kit brew

Hey all, I just went to the local brew store, and they were all out of Citra hops, so I was given the recommendation of using Galaxy hops. One of the guys recommended this recipe, and getting ready to have friends come over to help brew. What do you think? .25 Belgian Aromatic .25 Belgian...

Anyone have a good Oktoberfest recipe?

I'd like to find a clone of Lakefront Brewery's Oktoberfest beer. I have never done all grain, so I don't know hard it would be to clone this without doing it.

    Too much head?

This bottle was thrown in the fridge on Saturday, and allowed to chill. It tasted great, today when I pulled it out, so I threw half the bottles in the fridge to cool because I'm having friends come over on Wednesday to try out the brew. I'm hoping that works out well!

    Too much head?

I thought I poured this out perfectly, but it feels very heavy carbonated. It tastes AWESOME, just very bubbly.

    Brew for warmer fermentation temps

Just finished bottling an IPA I made with the Saison 3711 yeast, that was at around 78. I tasted it yesterday during the bottling, and it smelled and tasted great. Can't wait to see how the finished product tastes.

So my stupid ass threw away the priming sugar before bottling

WOW, I seem to not be able to do anything right. This is my 3rd batch, and the instructions on the kit told me to cool it. Oh well, I just put it in an ice bath in the freezer for about 10 minutes.

So my stupid ass threw away the priming sugar before bottling

I just ended up making dinner with friends and we all got drunk and passed out. Too bad I didn't come back and read this thread. I ran over to the brew place and bought a pack of sugar for $.75. Gonna bottle it up today. Boiling it into a simple syrup now, then gonna slowly mix it into the...

So my stupid ass threw away the priming sugar before bottling

Blah, I googled "alternates to corn sugar" and google redirected me to here, and some other sites, saying corn sugar is essential, or to use malt extract. Oh well, I transferred into a sanitized bucket, and it's sealed right now, and we'll pretend it's in a "secondary fermenter" now, but it's...

So my stupid ass threw away the priming sugar before bottling

Yea. I had a buddy over, showing him how to brew/bottle beer. Today was bottling day, so we were having beers, and cleaning/sanitizing. I had boiled the sugar, and he threw it in the fridge to cool down. After we were done sanitizing, I told him to put the sugar in the bottling bucket, so he...

Being on the road while brewing sucks...especially when you come back to a mess

Gotcha, thanks guys. I just had to move the bucket a bit from behind my couch where it's coolest in my apartment, just to clean off the bucket lid and airlock. I'm out of homebrew, so I have to relax, and have a craft brew :(

Being on the road while brewing sucks...especially when you come back to a mess

What about it being exposed to air while I cleaned out the airlock? There was some dry krausen around the ring that I tried to clean as best I could before I took it out, so I'm worried about some of it maybe falling in. I'm definitely getting a glass carboy next time, so I can see wtf is going...

Being on the road while brewing sucks...especially when you come back to a mess

Sorry for the late responses guys, came in on a redeye last night and just woke up. This was a kit set, because it was cheaper, and according to the guys at Brew & Grow in Chicago (Great place btw!) it's not a bad setup. So it was a partial boil, and added water. It's stopped bubbling out of...
