    RIMS for Dummies

That takes up a lot of real estate. I saw some pics on here using an old pressure washer frame to mount the RIMS to, but found a better solution.

    Cordane's Rolling Kegerator (Image Intensive!!)

Old thread, I know. The weight of all that plywood and two kegs must be murder on those little cooler wheels. I made a single kegerator with the MaxCold version of this cooler, with the 5 gal keg barely sticking out of the carefully cut hole in the lid. I also mounted a CO2 regulator in the...

    RIMS for Dummies

I have mine mounted vertically, with one of these under each arm of the T. They easily unclip. Got mine from Grainger, but that was just because I could pick it up locally. CADDY Superklip from Erico

    RIMS for Dummies

First batch with my RIMS tube went off without a hitch, but how do you figure in heat loss from RIMS tube in your strike calculations? Temp wound up way low, as the RIMS tube & fittings were at 60 degrees ambient. Of course, it heated up to temp in several minutes. I may go to filling mash...

    RIMS for Dummies

Even using the longer Camco element, I had to use my mini sledge to squeeze the bend in the element to fit through the tri-clamp fitting. RIMS for Dummies

Check out the Camco 02923, 4500w 240v element. I sourced it from a post on this thread. Inexpensive & plenty long w/ a foldover. Using w/ Glacier 1 1/2" RIMS.

    RIMS for Dummies

Stout's is a good value, especially if you want 2" pipe. You will need a liquid sensor or a cap for that opening. I am not brewing over 10 gal., so 1 1/2" pipe works for me. Glacier was a good deal, but I wish they priced comparable to Stout.

    RIMS for Dummies

I just bought one, and the NPS fitting must be bought separately. The two outlets are the same size as the end openings & can accomodate 1/2" NPT fittings.

Auber 4342 PID Rims for dummies

Any reason why Solid State Relays are recommended, versus a mechanical(?) relay? I had an electrical engineer tell me that SSRs can fail, and when they do it is often in the closed mode - which means an overheated element. Any electrical whiz who can comment on this?
