The only one I have made is the black pearl a few times and making small changes enough where I thought I could rename. Midnight opal. I do feel it has been a bit sweet but the wife loves it.
Has anyone compared this and Black Pearl posted by Biermuncher? I have played and tweeked it a bit and am thinking of trying this Deception Cream for another change.
I hit my og number or at least close but when I taste the wort from hydrometer reading it has a little bite to it. Kind of like an orange rind would. Otherwise it seems great. Any ideas?
When looking at everything involved brewing beer, what would be the top 10, 50 or what ever things most important to making great beer. I would think the first bunch might be consistent.
I have a few all grain recipes I have made a couple of times. If I wanted to raise the abv from 5.5 ish to 10 or so to go big are there any general steps to do so. Trying to keep same flavors and style (within reason)
