I have a 3lb container of lme still with foil seal on it. I think it is 1 yr old. there is no date on container. is it still good or should I toss it...

had the same problem today. missed my og by 10. seeing it was late will head out to the LBS and get some DME in the am and get it into my primary asap.. good luck with your brew

just got my starter today, and steeping the tea now. i bought my starter from the happy herbalist. and using royal pu-erh tea. hope it turns out good..

awesome looking vines.... looking at the pics has me wanting and planing on growing some cascade this spring... how did any of your beers turn out that you used the hops in?

the cedar does smell awesome. i bought a board last yr and made my own version of a spiral.. cut it roughly 1"x1"x8" then used my chop saw to cut slits every 1/2" allmost all the way threw the wood. it is not round but does have alot of surface area... i did a search on the web about spirals...

where did you get the high pressure co2 extension hose? and great build...

keeping making the beer it will turn out ok.... in my opinion the wort is allways darker till you put it in a pint glass,, even in a fermentor it is darker... good luck i am sure it will be fine... post of the recipe... and as doc said the first runnings will be daker.

just have fun with it,,, dont worry to much, you will in the end have beer. just make sure you have enough water on hand.

its perfect outside this morning for brewing, it quiet out and no one is around. just got done running the first mash and wokring on the first round of sparging.

Finially able to get out and brew some beer, being in Fl it is hot all summer and now with the temps in the low 60's this morning means no sweating while brewing. working on a sierra nevada clone. started at 730 am and hope to be done before noon... damm this is a fun hobby

i have a homemade cooler and cpvc manifold. up till today it worked just fine... took a SG reading prior to boil est was 1.046 i got 1.039 so i think not to bad..

working on my 5th all grain, prior to this no problems spraging, then today. after running threw 2 qts to clear up the wort, i put the hose into my kettle and leave the valve slightly cracked open, after 10 mins it is down to a trickle and still alot of water left in the mash tun... i am using...
