    Opinions on IPA Recipe

Thanks for the feedback! @Bill - I used a calculator, but I am not using a stir plate, so its a simple starter with some occasional shaking, and I am only using a single smack pack for the starter. @bobbrews - Thanks for the tip, I was afraid it might not be enough hops. 86% - Canadian...

How feasible is it to start AG with no prior brewing experience?

I started with all grain, it was easy, and I haven't had any issues so far. I did a lot of reading before hand, and watched a few youtube videos. I'm drinking my first brew right now (an IPA), and it turned out great, and my friends are all really excited because they now think they'll get free...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I brewed last night, pitched my starter at 2:30am, and now my ESB is fermenting like crazy, glad I hooked up a blow off tube. Enjoy your home brewing this weekend everybody.

Finally Brewed my First Beer (with pictures)

Thanks everybody. I've put some cold tap water in the tub and the temp has come down a bit already. I'll leave it like that and see how it goes. I think the next project is a chest freezer with a thermostat for the shop :) I just realized that the recipe is written from the perspective of dry...

Finally Brewed my First Beer (with pictures)

Well, after lurking on this forum for at least a year I finally brewed my first beer this past weekend. I think its safe to say that I am hooked. My first brew was an all grain kit from hopdawgs.ca, their Garage Floor IPA. I built my own cooler mash-tun, and immersion wort chiller. Both...

How long did you extract brew before going to All Grain?

I've never done an extract brew, it looked like more work to me, so I jumped in with both feet brewing all grain. Did my first batch on Saturday and it was pretty straightforward. Its fun and addictive. The hardest part was figuring out what to do with all of the wet grain!

Strange bubbles in bottles after pouring

I've had those bubbles from off the shelf bottle conditioned beers, I would assume they are no cause for concern. From playing with Starsan myself, the only possibility of it being left behind is that you didn't dilute the Starsan enough (if mixed correctly no rinse should be required).

    Hello from BC Canada

Hi There, Been lurking for a few months, and finally took the plunge to start homebrewing after thinking about it for so long. Planning to brew my first 5.5gal batch on the weekend, an IPA from an All Grain kit purchased from Hopdawgs.ca. I just have to finish my mash tun, I have a 5...
