Home Brewing Biography
I'm a retired guy in a townhouse. Too old to be hefting 5-gallon carboys, not enough room (or desire) to go all grain. I am on a crusade trying to perfect a 2.5 gallon brew. For recipes, I rely on "Brewing Classic Styles" by Zainasheff and Palmer and simply cut in half all ingredients. Simple recipes -- amber ales, brown ales. I do a full boil, cool with a stainless steel immersion cooler, ferment in a small SS fermenter -- no transferring to a secondary. I use a small fridge with Northern Brewer temperature controller.
