    A Weird idea...

I am thinking I may split the batch in two and try doing it both ways. Thanks for the advise and I will keep you updated on how it turns out when I brew the beer.

    A Weird idea...

I am not too concerned about the flavors fermenting off because I am putting it in after the main fermentation is finished.

    A Weird idea...

Has anyone tried marshmellow in the secondary? I am thinking about adding some water and melting some down then putting them in either the primary (after four days of fermintation) or the secondary. My concern is the gelitan (spelling?) in the marshmellow. Any ideas??

    Melted Marshmallows for priming?

Along the same lines, has anyone tried marshmellow in the secondary? I know this is an old posting, but hopefully someone will check it.

    Licorice Stout

Ok, I am planning on using the Chocolate malts. As far as the Cocoa Nibs, would I get roasted or raw ones? I was thinking roasted, but I am uncertain.

    Licorice Stout

So, I am planning on making a Licorce Stout. I have an ounce of licorice in the boil and have a pretty decent recipe planned out. I am really wanting to add some coffee/expresso flavors and a bit of dark chocolate flavor as well. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish this without...

    Harvest Ale

So, here is what I did. I will let you all know how it turns out. 1.5 lbs, 20L Crystal malt 7lbs, liquid pale malt extract 1 oz. Simcoe hops (60 minutes) 1 tsp Irish moss 5.1 oz. Fresh Zeus Hops (10 minutes) 7.9 oz. Fresh Cascade Hops (5 minutes) White Labs California Ale Yeast...

    Harvest Ale

This is my first yeat in growing hops and, since it is the first year, they are not yeilding all that much. If I dried them, I may get 3-4 ounces of Zeus and Cascade hops at the very most. I have not built a miniature oast house yet, nor do I have a food saver system yet to store the hops. So, I...

    Is my beer ruined?

Thanks for all your responses. I did not think it was ruined, but I just wanted to make sure.

    Is my beer ruined?

I brewed on Sunday, 08/02/2009. Everything looked alright, smelled alright, and all my equipment was sanitized. I came home from work the next day to see that my airlock had clogged and the lid had popped off because of the pressure. The lid was not completly off and no part of the bucket was...

    Pineapple IPA

That seems like a good plan. I may add it in the secondary. I do not want there to be a strong pineapple flavor. So, I may stick with 2-3 pineapples.

    Pineapple IPA

Yeah, that may be the way to go. I'd hate to waste a batch of beer....hmm....what to do? what to do?

    Pineapple IPA

Well, I am trying to make the pineapple very subtle. The only reason I am trying it is because my brother will be in town and he loves pineapple. The only beer I could think it would taste ok in would be an IPA. I know that 3 Floyds puts mango in the Dreadnaught and maybe that's why I thought...

    Hops: Flavor and Aroma Only?

From my understanding, you have to add a bittering hop early in the boil or the beer would come out so sweet that it would be undrinkable. I actually read that in How to Brew. I would really advise you not to try it.
