No, all the logic is in the backend, the last thing I want is to lose a recipe or state because I refreshed the page right? All of the getting and setting is done via APIs, but I'm not sure if they'd be RESTful strictly speaking. For your friend, I'd recommend the $25 for a raspberry pi and...

I didn't post it because it's ugly, but since you asked... I've got to reroute stuff to be a little neater obviously. I'd also like to get away from using a hard drive if I can help it. I used the 10" monitor from here...

The solenoid valves are just the gas valves in the back and the water in valve. Those are from valves4projects on ebay. The rest of the valves, the blue boxes are automatic ball valves, they don't clog like a solenoid valve might. Those I got from oscsys.com, but they're Chinese so you might be...

    Source an RTD

Heh, hopefully it'll come in handy later, it's not wasted money it a future partially funded project. The picture shows two red wires that are equivalent. That's so you can detect the inherent resistance in the wires in your circuit and subtract it from the observed resistance the RTD...

Yes, I've seen that one and am considering it. BeagleBoards had been expensive, but this one is very comparable in price to the pi and is faster and has more GPIOs which means I can possibly get rid of the Arduino I'm using as well.

Built my Single Tier HERMS on lurking only.

I'd recommend the wheels from Harbor Freight for what we're using them for. HF wheels are much cheaper and although they're not as good they'll be fine unless we start racing these things.

Great job. Now to get some beer out of it! Be careful. I ended up with 20 gallons in the garage in just a couple weeks.

The DS18B20s aren't RTDs. They're ICs that use the 1 wire protocol. Each chip has a separate address and they're all connected to the same data pin on your microcontroller. They don't provide a change in voltage or resistance or anything with temperature. I use them and highly recommend them...

What about them was rubbish? Mine all worked exactly the way I'd expect. Am I lucky or are we expecting different things?

I've been learning/using Eagle as well to design board for this and other projects and mill them on my CNC mill. Here's my first attempt at making a board for this project.

Is there any interest in me putting a demo of the software up that people can poke at? I'd have to fake some of the temperature data I guess since I don't want a propane burner hooked up to the internet. :)

    Home Depot DIY Water Filter

The filter is 3/4 Female, the bushing is 3/4M x 1/2F. One of the camlocks is 1/2M the other 1/2F and I just use a nipple, but that's just because I had a female one, they make males too. No, my filter has a thing on the top(bottom in the picture) you turn from "Filter" to "Off" to "Bypass"...

    Home Depot DIY Water Filter

That's what I did. The filter has a male on one side and female on the other. Doesn't leak, and you can take it off empty it and put it away.

    Automated Soda Dispenser

The keg doesn't HAVE to be cold, but the amount of CO2 that can be dissolved in a liquid is in part determined by the temperature of the liquid, so it has to be cooled in the tube if not before. If you're cooling it in the tube it also means you'll need metal tubes, since plastic does such a...

Hybrid Kal + automated water valves

That's not true, they can be stopped at any point by cutting power. They're not spring loaded or anything.
