Water adjustment - Austin, TX water chloramines pale ale

Brewing an IIPA tomorrow. Gonna try tweaking my water for the first time. Actually, what I am most interested in is driving off the chloramines. The local water is heavy with this stuff and I want to see if we can clean up the taste of my brews a little bit. Sorry if this is mundane, but...

    Imperial IPA recipe help

I read a number of different opinions on the hop utilizatino for FWH. Anywhere from +10 to -65%. I chose to go with -65% based on teh balance of what I read here. I am open to modifying that, but figured that that was an ok place to start.

How much flat beer have you drank?

Kegged a batch of a rye ale tonight and had about a half gallon left in the fermenter after filling up the corny. Filled up a big jar and have pulling pints off since I finished. I ain't throwing that **** away, so instead I am sitting here with a pleasant buzz off flat beer. I guess I should...

Found some old glass carboys - gross

Found some carboys that were filled with water and left unattended outside for a few months. They got algae and stuff growing in them now. I got them for free and want to clean them up and use them as secondaries. I was thinking that I would soak them for a few days in pbw solution, rinse than...

Round MLT false bottom, perforated vs. slotted.

1st post...searched for this topic but didn't find any discussion of a slotted false bottom implemented in a round cooler. Getting back into all-grain. My previous setup was a rectangular cooler with a copper manifold. That cooler bit the dust, and I went back to doing mini-mashes. Decided...
