Supposed to bottle a barleywine tomorrow, a few questions.

So I brewed a barleywine a little over a year ago and it has been in the carboy ever since. I have not yet measured the FG but I know from previous readings it's going to be a big boy. My question is what bottling methods do you recommend? I haven't bottled in a while and I'm pretty confident...

    HBT Rocks!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you, did my first batch 2 weekends ago. Found a killer homebrew setup on craigslist and am pumped to get my second batch under my belt this weekend. This website has been a huge tool for me. So to second his sentiments, thanks!

A Monster Beer. What to do from here?

"You pitched one smack pack for a beer that big? You're really supposed to make a starter with a smack pack for anything over about 1.035" Honestly we just followed the recipe we had and that was about it. It was our first time making a barleywine so we weren't exactly sure about everything...

    Sweet Success!

Reviving a thread here but I had a question about this recipe. I really want to give it a try but I was curious as to what your target OG and FG were? Also, did you make another batch using the 2 oz of vanilla instead of 1 oz, and if so which one turned out better do you think? Thanks!

Pretty excited about this batch, the guy at the store told us it was an "ambitious project" for our experience level. Think it will be well worth the wait.
