    Yeast starter

    Can I make a yeast starter using corn sugar instead of dme? I kinda need to make it tonight and its 10:15pm so I can't go to lhbs and get dme.... Advice?

    Cleaning equipment after use

    Looking for ideas on cleaning equipment after use. I try to rinse everything off and what not, but everything still seems almost sticky. I have a plastic rubber made bin I store everything in once dry. But still sticky. Ideas?

    Mashing overnight???

    Well it's not inparitive that I do it, I was just thinking it would save time on brew day tomorrow... But I guess I'll just get up a bit earlier. Thanks ya all

    Rinsing bottles

    My kit came with chlore and sulphite, I guess to clean the bottle and santaize with, I am used to using star San.... Is there a difference??? If so, what ratios do I use with the chlore and sulphite? Thanks

    Mashing overnight???

    I was thinking of mashing over night.... So it would be ready to lauter and rinse in the morning. Any thought on this?

    Bottle storage

    So these kits make about 30 bottles right? I'm sure ya all are constantly fermenting/bottling wine. So the 30 becomes 60 then 90 ect ect.... How are you storing all these bottles of filled wine while you wait for them to age? Build something? Store bought wine racks?

    Kegging vs Bottling

    I do both, I mix my primeing sugar in my keg, hook to CO, fill how ever many bottles I want off co, (this is all before it is carbonated) then leave rest to carbonate in keg. So I usually have like 24 bottles and hall keg of beer. Best of both worlds and easy.

    So a few weeks back I got two brews to make, I have been waiting for a day off when I could do them both. Well tomorrow is the day.... Here is my problem, when I went to the store I forgot the yeast for one of the brews.... I can't make it to the store till Sunday to get the yeast, but tomorrow...

    mash tun not big enough... ideas?

    i am using the 5 gallon igloo cooler... i wish i would of went 10 gallon from the beggining but i didnt. i am going to be making an ipa that is going to be borderline on having enough room. what are my options for still getting good results and not trying to pack 16lbs of grain in a 5 gallon cooler?
