    Even cheaper DIY line cleaner

Guys... I've seen plenty of posts about beer line cleaners, and they all seemed fairly cheap and easy. The pump is a smart idea, but I found something that came up even cheaper, and has less moving parts to worry about. I picked up one of these today from the LHBS...

    One hop beers.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I've really enjoyed this thread. I think I'm gonna scrap Medley for now as it's basically a daughter of Simcoe, and I'd like a little more variety. Centennial got high reviews, so I'm replacing Medley with Centennial. This should give a good variety, and I may...

    One hop beers.

So I'm working on a project of brewing a series of one hop beers. I wanted to see if anyone else had a good experience with this and wanted to offer up suggestions for hops to use. Here are the ones I've already got fermenting: Cascade Saaz Citra Simcoe Medley planned... Any other suggestions?

    Citra hop leaves for sale

Post office just closed, so I can ask tomorrow. My guess is that if I can get it to fit in a standard envelope, and you aren't looking for overnight shipping, it will cost whatever a stamp costs these days. More details tomorrow

    Citra hop leaves for sale

The problem is most places won't sell an ounce. Thanks for the farmhouse link... When I checked their website a few days ago it was unavailable. That means I've already purchased the 1lb of citra leaves. I didn't pay $60, but when you factor in shipping to me, and buying a box of bags to send...

    Citra hop leaves for sale

    1. Which forum would you suggest? The for sale forum seemed to be equipment related. 2. Absolutely. Passing on costs and not making a dime. If you can find it cheaper, feel free to let me know. Most places I looked didn't even sell Citra leaves, or they were out of stock. Supply/demand I...

    Citra hop leaves for sale

Guys, Just purchased a whole pound of citra hops in leaf form. I'm only gonna need one ounce, but my supplier would not allow me to buy in that low of a quantity. I'm selling the rest, (15 oz) for $4 an ounce, plus shipping. Let me know who's interested. When the delivery come in, I'll post it...

    First try at a Lambic

No worries about adding to the thread... I hope that other new lambic brewers can find something to help them along. How long before the pelicle forms? It looks as if the most aggressive part of the primary fermentation is starting to slow down... I'm curious to know when I should be looking...

    First try at a Lambic

Mike, It sounds like one of the best ways to go about this is to brew a second lambic about 6 months after your first, and then blend the two together to bottle. You get the sugar and active fermentation from the second batch, plus the complexity and flavors from the first batch. This results...

    First try at a Lambic

Did you fill the jars with any type of sanitizing solution? seems you wouldn't want to return anything back to the carboy unless it was from an empty/sanitized jug, but then again you'd want some type of sanitizer to create the airlock effect and prevent anything from returning to your beer...
