Thanks for the responses. I pitched the yeast when the wort was a little hot (80-85 degrees) due to time constraints. But it was placed in my basement right away where it's a steady 65 degrees. Here's hoping the end product isn't anything too unbearable!

I know that pitching at a higher temp in a hefe will impart some heavy fruity banana esters, but what would happen if I pitched two packets of Nottingham Yeast at 85 degrees for an IPA? Any off flavors or potential issues with the end product?

Is there any adverse affects to begin steeping the grains in the water before applying heat and then when it comes up to 150-155 degrees, I start the timer for 20-30 minutes?

What I got out of this thread in the most basic of terms: Chill Keg (38-42 degrees) Place at 30psi for 24 hours Purge and Reset to 10-12psi Wait 5 days + and Serve!

Hi guys, I'm about to buy a 2 corny keg system with a dual body regulator so I can force carb and dispense at the same time. My only question is: Can I mount the regulator on the 5# c02 bottle so I can read the guages from the top rather than the side? Not only will this help in reading it...
