American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

I made a second batch using this grain bill and tapped the keg last weekend. Fantastic! Used different hops and increased the IBUs a bit (around 55 or so), and tastes wonderful. Hoppy pale ales are my favourite style of beer, and this will be my go-to recipe. I think I will have to dedicate...

Adding Sour Cherries to Sour Beer

Yeah, I brewed up the golden sour and pitched the WLP655 directly into the carboy. I have about 20 lb of sour cherries. Maybe I will make a few batches of a cherry stout and just use fresh cherries next year if it needs to sit in the primary for a year.

Adding Sour Cherries to Sour Beer

I brewed up 5 gallons of the golden sour recipe from the Rare Barrel yesterday. I pitched WLP 655 and I am a bit surprised to see fermentation take off already. My plan is to let it get nice and sour and then rack it on to a mess of Nanking cherries that are in my freezer. My questions...

American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

Brewed on June 10, kegged last Sunday. Poured my first pint tonight. Excellent! Easy drinking APA with enough hops to make your taste buds happy. I used all Mosaic for this first batch, but I am sure to experiment with them. This will definitely be on my rotation. Thanks, Yooper!

American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

Brewing this up right now as first brew on my new EBIAB setup. Modified hop bill to Mosaic and adjusted additions to account for increased AA%. Very excited to try it out.

Pitched US05 straight out of the fridge, my beer turned into a saison?

I had the same thing happen to me one time. Made up a basic pale ale recipe and used US-05 yeast. I didn't have any real problems in the brewing, and I took the yeast out with enough time to reach room temperature. Still, it ended up tasting like a saison. I tried a bottle much later (over a...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm planning to do my first attempt at a wet-hopped beer this weekend.

    Fresh Squeezed IPA (Deschutes Inspired)

I made 10 gallons of this with my brother-in-law. Subbed out Nugget hops for Chinook (we had them on hand). Turned out very nice and easy to drink. I might have to find a 6-pk of the real stuff for a comparison, but I have no problem drinking what we made up. Considering the cost of...

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

I brewed up 10 gallons of this for my friend's wedding this past, which happened this past weekend. All 10 gallons were finished at the wedding (along with 15 gallons of another recipe). Not bad for a total of 60 guests. This was a tasty and popular choice.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Did a 10 gallon batch of Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale this morning. Can't wait to try it out!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I will make an extract Zombie Dust (kinda) clone tomorrow. I've never actually had ZD so I won't know how close I come to it, but I will do lots of late Citra additions and aim for an OG of 1.065.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I'm planning to do 4 x 1 gallon SMASH brews from the same starting wort. I will mash some Marris Otter and hop a gallon each with Citra, Amarillo, Centennial and Columbus. Everything identical except the hops. It will be a good experiment to get to know the character of the hops. I...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Doing a couple of specialty grain + extract brews this weekend. Did an Imperial IPA with Columbus, Amarillo and Citra yesterday (will dry hop with Centennial, Amarillo and Citra) and working on an Imperial Stout today. The kitchen has a beautiful chocolatey-roasty smell right now.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Leaving on vacation, and all my fermenters are empty, so needed to get something going... Threw together a 1.5 gallon batch of a hoppy American Red Ale with Centennial, Amarillo and Citra out of some leftover DME, crystal 40 and carafa III. A little short on fermentables so added some brown...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

From what I've read, it is harder to overpitch than underpitch. The beer that I made had a SG of 1.071, so I wanted to make sure I had a healthy batch of yeast to put in there. A half-packet probably would have been plenty, but what to do with the rest of the packet? I decided to throw it all...
