I consider myself a pretty good lutheir (a person the repairs and builds guitars and wooden string insturments) and an excellent Home Inspector. I enjoy residential repair & construction as a hobby too. As formally trained carpenter I feel that working with wood is good for the soul, but I would not want to do it for a living. Nobody wants quality so I'd go broke trying to compete with the slip shod work and people that pass themselves off as carpenters now days. My motto for carpentry is when in doubt build it stout. I just really bothers me the way the floors bounce and the house shakes when someone walks thru the room in most modern construction..
