I usually go a bit higher on a hop I haven't used before but a bit reluctant with the neomexicanus hops as they pack a punch. I might push it to 30% then go 30% citra and 40% Nelson. Got some 2025 crop Nelson so excited to see how it is.

I'm thinking of just going with about 25% of the dry hop with 1019 because of how potent this hops can be. Thinking of 40% Nelson, 35% Citra and 25% 1019. Probably a safe rate to start with.

Was just coming on here to ask about 1019 so I'll tag onto the post. Have a lb of it that I want to use so looking for ideas on pairing. Ging with Citra anyway then open to a third choice. Reading around and sounds like Nelson could be a good option. So anyone who has used it a lot have any...

2 brews now with Coastal Haze and hit 1.022 on both. OG 1.082. Mashed at 68C/154.4 and raised to 71C/159.8 for 15 minutes at the end of the mash. Really love this yeast.

Thanks. I've all 3 hops you mentioned so will see what the quality is like before deciding. The mosaic isn't the best from what I remember and the Strata is from 22. Will go heavy on the nectaron as I want it to stand out.

Sorry for going back to a post a few months old but have only found this post and getting up to speed with it. What would be a good substitute for Motueka as I really don't like that hop? Want to use Nectaron in a west coast and this one looks amazing, like all your beers. Interested to try out...

I brewed a few weeks ago with the 24 Nelson from Hop Alliance and it was just ok. Smelled great when I opened the pack but the flavour didn't transfer to the beer. Was a lot better than the 23 Nelson from YVK which was very vegetal and woody.

I wouldn't be at the stage I am with this style if it wasn't for this thread. The amount of information I've picked up from really talented brewer's. Here's to the next 500 pages.

Thanks for that information. Building up my starter at the moment but need to do a stepped starter so wont get to brew this weekend but will the following one.

Good to know this combo worked. What ratio did you use? Im thinking equal citra and Rakau and maybe just a bit less Superdelic as I found it having a bit of a kick to it.

Why did you abandon Nectaron in haziest out of curiosity? I'm a bit on the fence about it. Cabomake my mind up if I like it or not. Would you keep Superdelic in an even ratio? I used it with Citra before and really liked it but would need to check my notes what ratio I used it in

Trying to work out my next recipe as my Rakau/ Citra/ Nelson keg has just kicked. I want to definitely go with Rakau and Citra again but was a bit unhappy with the Nelson I got so would like to sub something else in. Have 24 Nectaron from Hop Alliance and 24 YVH Superdelic. @Dgallo do you think...
