Thanks!
Yeah I screwed up my measurements, you're definitely gonna need to do a 8" collar to use the hump for kegs. but maybe when I change it in the future. The controller wiring was a bit of a pain for me as I'm electrically challenged and have a strong respect of things that go zap but...
and here's some more pics of the finalish thing...I do wish I had went with a 20# co2 cylinder also am planning a nitro set up when I obtain a few more cornies but we shall see how that goes.
I know this thing is a project in progress and probably won't be finished totally but it is working...
I stained the box with a dual poly/stain mix from minwax. worked great with no huge issues. As I said before this was a first for me so I didn't go with mitered corners etc.
I installed the Love temp controller on a Stainless steel light switch bracket to kinda clean up its look as just in...
Thanks for the inspiration of several of you around here I decided to tackle a Keezer build for a late Xmas gift from my bride.
I bought a 7.2CF freezer from Home Depot for under 200 bucks delivered to my door only problem is that it's white. I'd like to change that in the future but not...
Chris, You win...it definitely started after 5-10 minutes after plug in. so after all my worrying that I screwed it up it absolutely is fine now. I guess I should make a post about my build. I LOVE this thing now that it's working!!!
I am building a Keezer right now and have hooked up my Love TSX-10140 and it lights up and the freezer lamp is lit up but the controller has a little flashing dot right below the snowflake symbol and there is no sound whatsoever coming from the freezer. It's just doesn't seem to be working for...
We are from the St. Louis area and have been home brewing for a couple of years now but only 1 or 2 batches a year. We have now stepped up to a Keezer that's almost finished that I'm putting in 3 taps. One being a nitro set up for those yummy stouts I like to drink.
Always looking for new...
Thanks so much for the replies guys. Didn't mean for this to turn into a flame war but I did learn a ton from it. I'm going with a 15 gallon with the info I've gotten from you all and still debating price points with the bride so we shall see.
Thanks again.
Thanks so much for the replies.
If I go with the 15 gallon wont I have to worry about
Excess boil off due to larger surface area as I brew my 5gallon batches?
Are sight glasses on them easy to clean?
Thanks much for the prompt answers. Love this place.
I'm upgrading from a VERY cheap SS 5 gallon pot and would like to invest in a pot that will last. I don't mind shelling out a couple hundred for a 10 gallon brew pot but I want to make sure it's worth it.
also are the thermometers on those able to handle boiling or are they just for the Mash...
