Amazon kits are fine but you get what you pay for. I've made of few of them in 5 gallon batches with no problems. Several I've tweaked for the fun of it.
Lots of different suppliers of wine kits, Cheeky Monkey brand finishes fairly quickly so if you want a kit you can drink soon after...
I've bought several wine kits from Amazon with no complaints. First one I followed directions with the exception of allowing more time between steps (3 weeks in secondary then age 5-6 weeks before bottling) and let bottle age a couple of months before drinking. Fine $1.65 bottle of wine.
