    Gluhwein recipes?

Yes, that's it indeed. Brotherhood Winery also sells a ton of their famous "Holiday" wine. I think I will try a few one gallon batches to experiment. Perhaps next Christmas I'll have a recipe for gifts!

    Gluhwein recipes?

I've actually been very fortunate to have been able to buy bottled gluhwein. Perhaps it is a farce, but I've enjoyed it. Are there any recipes for a spiced 'holiday' wine?

    Gluhwein recipes?

Does anyone have a good Gluhwein recipe? I've searched, but haven't seen much. Most involve mulling finished wine. I do have four gallons of Yooper's Grape Juice wine fermenting and I'd love to use that recipe as a base.

I'm looking to make a thicker cider

When I first got into making ciders I experimented with Apfelwein and some varieties of that. Decided it wasn't my thing. Last year I tried to emulate store bought sweet non-alcoholic cider. It was fantastic. I fermented the store bought stuff with Nottingham and I think an extra pound per...

    Materials for wood cider press

You may even want to make a template out of plywood for the fabrication shop. Say your barrel is 12" then cut a 12" circle for them to compare it to.

    Materials for wood cider press

Without trying to sound like a jerk your press looks terrible. I don't want to sound mean but there was no way that could be adequate. Please, no hard feelings. Nothing personal. You may want to reconsider what alloys of steel you may use. Find out what alloy you would like, then find it in...

Thoughts on this pumpkin spice cider..

I should have mentioned I have still ciders. Good point on the sediment. Perhaps I'll put 3 liters from my five gallon batch aside and put that in secondary. Most of this batch will be standard still cider.

Thoughts on this pumpkin spice cider..

I currently have a basic sweet cider fermenting. Store bought cider that I kill the yeast in then back sweeten to taste after it finishes. I found this recipe for pumpkin syrup that I am considering adding to some of my cider when bottling. Thoughts...

    Need to kill my yeasties..

Yes. Still cider it is. They're cheap, reusable, and a lot less work than bottles (unless bought new, but I don't want to buy new bottles). I've used them before with success, but pasteurized my cider in a big open pot before bottling. Didn't have issues with oxidation but I would like to...

    Need to kill my yeasties..

I'm thinking about waiting for it to finish then adding the sorbate and waiting 24hrs then racking. After racking, I'll back sweeten and bottle it in my smorgasbord of Mason jars and bottles and throwing it in the dishwasher. Thoughts? I've also had success bottling in High Life bottles...

    Need to kill my yeasties..

Hey everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post. Cool site you have here. I've been experimenting with simple ciders for awhile now and I think I have a decent recipe. Last time I made a cider I added campden tablets and possibly something else about 24 hours before I sweetened it and...
