Great article the only thing I could add is the 2% thorated green tungsten 1/16" is what I used for 20 years welding for food service companies like Nestle, Frito Lay , etc. A simple coffee can stuffed with steel wool makes an excellent purge can, if you have a bad weld you do not have to live...

I'm fermenting a Pale Ale that started at 1.058 sg. and at 1week I racked to a secondary fermenter and added 1 cup sugar, hoping to dry it out and raise the ABV a little, is there way to recalculate the OG for the sugar addition?
