Your capper should be adjustable. If it's not grabbing the lip turn around the plates that grab the lip. They should have a smaller diameter notch in the other side. If it is grabbing the bottle OK but just not getting a tight seal you can "unscrew" the bell shaped part so that it is closer to the clamping section.
