I have noticed lately that my Co2 regulator has been making funny sound and that today it was nearly frozen like freon was running through it.

Does anyone know why this is happening

If you only started seeing this after a recent bottle exchange there may be some water left in the bottle from a hydrostatic pressure test.

When CO2 escapes from the tank, it gets very cold. Dump it fast enough and you can easily sheet the tank in ice in a matter of a minute or two. If your regulator is freezing up my first guess would be to look for a huge leak, which would also explain the noises.
