I'm making my first batch of wine next month when my 8 gal fermenter is available again and I was wondering if there is any issue with using empty whisky bottles (Pendelton 1901, Balvenie double barrel, etc) if the wine corks fit correctly?
I'll have about 18-20 real wine bottles, just don't want to buy another box of bottles if i can help it.

No problems, you can put wine into anything that can be capped or corked.

If the corks make a tight seal AND you can get them back out again... I can't see any problem! :)

The logical thing to do would be to drink 12 or so more bottles of wine between now and bottling time.

But 12 more bottles of whiskey is more fun. ;)
