What is this funky brewing pot???

I bought this at a second hand store yesterday,,,,I can't find any information about the company- the logo says ERPROBT BEWAHRT. The expanded part shows the 4 main pieces. A bottom for water, a big grain holder, the main pot, and a smaller grain pan with a handle.
The main pot has a conical part on the bottom about 4 inches high.
The main grain holder sits on top of that. It looks like one of those old coffee percolator pieces. it looks like it can hold 10-11# of grain. The smaller basket piece with the handle looks like it will hold about 2# of grain. Also the smaller basket has "DEANNA SWEDEN" stamped on the bottom. The smaller basket fits on top of the main one, making the grain level about even if the pot were totally filled with water and grain.
So....any ideas? It doesn't look like it was ever used. My concern is if it is filled with water, would the wort leak through the conical part in the middle into the water pan below?
I'm hoping for some of your well experienced insights! I can always steam tamales in it, but that doesn't seem like its best use, of course. BTW I bought this in Sweden for about 8 dollars........:fro:

Yep, it's a steamer pot. Also handy for crabs, crawfish or clams. It looks like you're missing a spigot valve.

 

It has a spigot on the bottom of the main tub, and it came with a small metal and tube extension that hooks into it for draining liquid. That's why I thought it might be for brewing. I don't ever remember seeing a steamer with a spigot on the bottom, but who knows?? Since the name and logo seem to be a mystery, maybe that's how they roll in whatever place it came from?????

You can also steam tamales in them. Not sure how useful it will be for beer.

 

Have something almost identical for that and is used for making grape juice. Water goes into the bottom and top is put on. Put in strainer basket and fill with grapes. as the water in the bottom steams it goes to the top and when warm enough the skins with but and release their juice with drains down and comes out that spicket. On that spicket simply put a longer piece of surgical tubing and a pinch clamp on it so it does not just empty out. Drain juice concentrate to sanitized mason jars add sanitized lid and they will seal themselves as they cool.

 

Thanks for the replies. I thought it was a little iffy for beer, but you never know. And with all the great minds out there on HBT, I knew I would get some good answers. So, I have a good steamer for the summer seafood party! If only I could get fresh masa here in Sweden it would be a tamale fiesta! Skål!

 

it looks like a steam juicer, there are some youtube videos showing how to use it, great for wine making

This is a steam juicer. Fruit on top, boiling water on bottom, juice gets collected from the spigot. Not sure if it would make good quality juice due to the heating and water vapor collecting as well.
