    Hey Y'all!
    I got down and brewed a Hibiscus blonde ale today and thought I'd share the recipe. Now I have to wait... I think I'll have a homebrew while I do!

    Grain Bill
    3 Lb Vienna Malt
    3 Lb 6-Row Malt
    2.25 Lb Flaked Maize

    Mash Schedule
    Mash 2.75 Gallons filtered Austin, Texas water 90 minutes @150*
    Sparge 4 Gallons Filtered water 15 minutes @168*
    Sparge 2 Gallons Filtered water 15 minutes @168*
    Target pre boil wort amount 7 gallons
    pre-boil gravity 1.035

    Boil Schedule 90 mins
    1 oz Brewers Gold @ 60 mins
    .5 oz Brewers Gold @ 30 mins
    4 oz Hibiscus @ 15 mins
    1 whirfloc tablet @ 15 mins
    .5 oz Brewers Gold @ 5 mins

    Yeast
    Washed WLP007 starter

    Post-boil wort amount 5.5 Gallons
    OG 1.048

    I'm interested in the hibiscus. Is this a powder or liquid? Did it turn the wort a pink-ish/red color?

    They are dried flowers... I just dump them in the same bag as my hops. You can find them at most Mexican markets as Jamaica or through your LHBS. And yes - the beer is pink!
