Home again, after about 11 days away. Picked up some swag and my garden took a small leap. My Cascade hops bine went over the arbor and headed back the other direction...looks like it's budding! Going to try my first Summer Brew after I water the garden.

Finished watering the garden and now having the hb Summer Ale...oh, this is niiiiice after some heat and sweat! I let SWMBO taste...she doesn't drink much, but wanted more of this one. I'm having to open a second one, so I can get a full evaluation! Light body, citrus and hops in the aroma and flavor and a crisp finish. I'm very happy with this one! Recipe added!

First homebrew that one of buddies from Beer Forum brewed, an IPA he dubbed Hythloday. I'm digging it. It's good, and not just for his first brew. Tastes like he's done this a time or two.

This is OK. More trappist than IPA, but still good.

Saw that the other day, but wasn't sure what to think about it. I might have to try it now. Having a Dr. Pepper at work.

Vacationing in Charleston South Carolina in July. Westbrook Brewing us 15 minute drive from my hotel so their tasting room is on my agenda. Any where else around there I need to go? Besides to the beach to roast all this pink Ohioian skin?

Lol. Sounds like a conversation with my dad, but he refers to my beers as foofoo beers. It's either Budweiser or a Bohemia when he feels like drinking a "fancy import" beer

My dad knows of two beers, yeungling and 'bad beer'

Surprisingly, my parents' cabin doesn't have proper beer glassware, but I used a white wine glass. In his view, pu$$y beer glass. Hahaha.

Killed the keg in 2 pints. On to my hoppy mess IPA, while I do a last minute half-asses yeast harvest.

Nice. I prefer laurel lakes and that's where mt brother got engaged years ago. I'll be hitting some up in August when I go visit family.

    Rough.

Good luck with whatever you're going in for!

Definitely Westbrook! But other than that, get out on the water either boating fishing or sailing. My parents live there, and my old man sails weekly (racing) on his 30'.

Had 2 Westbrook Gose and a few hb strawberry blondes just to get my system tweaked for next week's vacation! ;):D

Didn't even realize the kid wasn't around. I had a member do that to me. He said he'd send something in a technical trade and never did. He continues to post. I just ignore it. Dunno where your friend went though.

Charleston Beer exchange is cool but fairly over priced. Westbrook is a must even though I hated my visit there. If I return it will be for a beer pickup only. Service was terrible and standing 3 feet in front of rotating staff while making eye contact and being ignored while they talked to each other is a recipe for me to say service sucks. They all seemed like arrogant beer snobs tbh. That said, they were out of everything but I am glad I went once.

Go there then spend your time at Holy City. So amazing!

:D I used to be the only craft drinker in the extended family but now my cousin's husband has converted. So at Thanksgiving we poke fun at everyone else drinking Busch Light or the Beast.

Sorry to hear - sucks losing a glass with beer in it. Reading your description though, I am picturing the glass launching in super slo-mo while you watch helplessly.

Water and coffee ... and quite happy I was told not to make the trip to CT today!
