What are these things?

A buddy at work like to collect antique things. Recently he showed up with these to show off since he knows I'm into brewing but neither one of us has any clue what they are. Anyone have any ideas? My guess is they are for display on the store shelves; possibly on the front edge of the shelve.

Yup, also known as foam scrapers. Pretty neat find Id say

 

They're still used daily at bars in Amsterdam, never seen 'em used anywhere else tho.

Never heard of a foam scraper ?? lol.........But it kinda looks like a fingernail file.......

 

I saw them being used in Germany back in early 70's, (only time I was there)

 

Very cool. Thanks. I also thought it was a tongue depressor, like you see at the doc's office, only beer flavored. Obviously that is not the case, nor would it ever be.
