    Does anyone have an idea of what water profile to use for a Fat Tire Amber Ale clone?

    I'm not sure if New Belgium tweaks their water at all (I don't know why they would, our water rocks) but here's the Fort Collins water Profile

    Calcium: 16.8 ppm
    Sulfate: 12.7 ppm
    Magnesium: 1.7 ppm
    Chloride: 2.6 ppm
    Sodium: 15.6 ppm
    Bicarbonate: 47.6 ppm

    I was actually looking for Fort Collin's water profile, but couldn't find it on the county/city's website.
    Thanks a lot, this is very helpful.

    Welll I already wrote this, so might as well post even though someone beet me too it...
    I guess its just confirmation...

    I dont know if New Belgium treats there water or not but the water quality for Fort Collins, CO is as follows:

    Ca++: 16.6ppm
    Mg++: 1.7ppm
    Na+: 2.8ppm
    SO4-:12.7ppm
    HCO3-:44ppm
    Cl-: 2ppm
    Hardness: 48ppm
    Alkalinity: 35.9ppm
    pH: 7.9

    This seems like a pretty "clean" water profile in terms of mineral content... I would tend to aim for something with slightly higher calcium and sulfate content...
