Very small fermentors

    Lets say I want to ferment a regular 5 gallon batch in 1 gallon jugs to do some experimenting... will the fermentation still be efficient? Just curious

    Assuming you pitch enough yeast, sure!

    There was an article in BYO about small batch brewing. If you're interested enough you might try to dig up that issue.

    1 gallon jugs is a good way to try different yeasts and or temperatures on the same exact beer. I found that with lagers the yeast strain does make the beer different at the same temperatures.
