trouble Carbonating

I brewed a bourbon vanilla porter (thanks Denny) and have it in the keg. Its been several days now and still very little carbonation, basically no head/foam. Pressure has been 25psi. Anybody have this problem or a clue to what is wrong? Never had a beer take this long.

 

If the co2 tank isn't empty, , then maybe the co2 is not entering keg or maybe there is a small leak affecting carbonation just enough for it to matter but not enough to drain the tank noticeably.

Have you shot a solution on all the parts that can leak and tested to make sure co2 is flowing and can get into the solution?

What about a bad co2 gauge reading? This has happened to me. Thougt it was 30 psi because thats what it was reading but turns out it was inaccurate and it was only 20psi

 

What is "several days"? Are you force carbonating (sounds like it at 25psi) or just letting it sit?

 

Its been a week now and I'm just letting the keg sit in the kegerator.

 

I find that it usually takes ~8-10 days. So, I'd say just wait a couple more days; I think its close. If you have psi set to 25 it will probably be too carbonated. Back it down to about 12-15 psi, relieve the pressure to equalize and wait another couple of days.

 

You can tilt the keg a little a rock it back and forth gently to force the co2 into the liquid. You should hear the co2 going when you do this. Try to keep the liquid away from the co2 tube, cause it is a pain to clean.

Did you check the cutoff valve on the regulator is open? It shouldn't take this long to force carbonate.

 

I think the OP isn't force carbonating... Just letting it sit. In which case it will take ~8-10 days usually.

My Belgian Blond finally became carbonated at day number 10!

 

I agree it takes 8-10 days for it to carbonate properly (in terms of flavour and body) but at 25 psi it should be carbonated in 2-3 days. Same when you bottle, it is generally carbonated in 3-4 days, but isn't right until at least 2+ weeks.
