I let the fermenting bucket sit overnight in sanitizer, emptied it during the boil. After I chilled the wort, I drained it into the fermenting bucket, and all sorts of foam rose to the top of the wort. Scooped off most of it, added the yeast at around 70 and let it sit for a couple days. Checked on it today, another inch or two of white foam (not krausen!) on the top which I again removed, but no drop in gravity either. Think I am going to wait a day or two then re-pitch if necessary and hope for the best. I tasted the foam, it is BITTER.

It's sanitizer foam. Leave it if it's from using starsan. It breaks down into yeast nutrient. No worries beyond that.
