So I see some people taking minifridges and using the whole thing as part of their fermentation chambers. When I got the one I have now, I deliberately bought one with the freezer area as the cooling portion of the fridge.

Well, I am assuming that is the only thing connected to the compressor.

Has anyone taking apart a fridge? What I want is the compressor and the chilling part but not the fridge body. Eventually I would put the working bits into a very narrow keggerator that would be part of living room furniture like one side of china hutch.

Right now I want to build a prototype though and use it as a fermentation chamber because nowhere in my house stays cool during the summers.
