To be honest, Great Divide Brewing is only 35 miles from my house, I've just never had those two. They make good beer, so I'm excited to give them a try.

Great divide has never let me down. I'm such a jackass. I cant believe i sent beer FROM colorado TO colorado. I was so focused on sending the best beers on my shelves that it didn't dawn on me that GD is IN colorado. But it woeked out, I guess. It's still embarassing

No worries. Good beer is good beer, no matter where brewed or drank.

Well I really hope you enjoy them all. It's nice seeing pictures of my package taken halfway across the country. I'm glad they all made it in one piece. And if you don't mind, could you drop a quick note on my itrader. Thanks.

Your going to have to make that up to him by sending me a black ops. Brooklyn is only 45 miles from my house but somehow this makes sense to me.

Not to mention the Flying Mouflan

I'd be happy to let you send me one too, if that makes you feel better. Anything to help! :fro:

Is that Flying Mouflan good? I found one bottle and almost drank it. When i boxed up mhurst's package, it was one of the highest rated beers i had on hand so I threw it in there. Hope I find another one day.

It's really good. I was going to send one to my guy, but the store I went to was out. Sucks.

Troegs doesn't really make bad beer...

When i saw it in the store, i was shocked because I never even heard of it. Bought it cuz Troegs really doesn't disappoint. We go to PA a couple times a year and i've always meant to stop by the brewery but I have the wife and kids with me. A couple weeks ago I wasted a trip to Victory. Wish I woukda taken the extra time to go to Troegs. Anybody wanna swap for a Flying Mouflan...lol

Could be, but it's still sitting on shelves around here in some stores. That one lays down pretty good IMO.

Man I love Resin. And Troegs beers. I was going to ship some to my recip, but since they technically aren't local, I skipped them. Maybe we should have a "Man these are really awesome brews that you can't get!" theme to another swaporama.

... You missed your shot! This was anti-local; exactly the theme you speak of!

This round was beers your recipient can't get, no matter where theyre from.

Resin is just about the only ipa i'll buy to drink. I'm not an ipa fan but resin seems to break the barrier.

    +1

I love trying new beers, so I'll buy anything once but something about resin works for me.

I thought it was "local beers that arent local to your recip" not just beers they cant get. I sent a bunch of stuff brewed within a hundred mile radius.

THIS is the clause that guided me on this adventure, quoted from the original post.

This is basically what I based my purchasing on. Find beer that is closest to me that they most likely never heard of.

Yeah, that doesn't hurt either, but the first paragraph:

This is the most open ended swap yet!!! Anything NOT local to your recipient goes!!! AKA, Anti-Local!

I sent some very local stuff that met both criteria. I think it is better than just something they can't get because they also are less likely to have gotten it in the past.

I did a combination of stuff very local that was worth drinking and some from nearby states that I knew my recipient didn't have a shot at.

I'm on the other side of Denver. Longmont is north, I'm in Roxborough, which is far southwest Denver. Longmont is about an hour or so from my house.

The bonus homebrews are an Arrogant Bastard clone and an American Pale Ale, which I'm looking quite forward to!

    Thanks again, from Illinois!

Cool! Always down to meet fellow brewers and have a beer or few with them. Let me know if you're ever in the area!

Sounds like I confused a few ...this round was definitely all about beer your recip cannot get. However, everyone wants the most local beer, so ideally keeping it as local as possible was encouraged.

Cathedral, you did great. Beer that is right by you is always optimal. Plus if its super local and not distributed far, its more likely your recip has not had it.

Is this trade still going on or is it over and people are now dispersing?

Phew, glad they all made it to you in one piece. I was a little worried with all of the breaks and confiscations that were happening. I'm glad to hear you like the haul, after putting it together it hit me most of them were stouts or IPA's, glad you like the styles. Which one was it you have had before?

I'm super stoked to work my way through this, it will definitely put me back in AZ in my mind. I do miss it out there, but I belong to the Midwest. I need the weather to change on a dime. Plus, chilling wort in January is a breeze!
