sugar addition points

    Hello i brewed a BGS..the og was 1.060 going into fermenter...after a few days i added 1.5lbs of sugar..so my question is how many og points did i add to the beer...volume was 6 gallons...the hydro reading is 1.008 at the moment

    I plugged it into one of the online calculators and you added 12 points.
    Plus, 1.072->1.008=8.2% alcohol.

    Table sugar yields approximately 46 points per pound. So 1.5 pounds will yield 69 total points. Assuming a 5 gallon batch, those 69 total points will increase your gravity by about 14 points (69/5).

    -He said it was a 6 gallon batch.
