hey, I'm trying out something nice n mild as my next brew. so I decided to get the ingredients for NB's AK47 Pale mild which is

    .5 lb's of Caramalt
    1 oz of pale chocolate

    with
    3 lb's light DME
    1 lb sugar

    1 oz Kent Goldings

now my LHBS doesn't have Caramalt but he suggested I replace with Belgian Carapils since it'll impart the some of the sweetness that caramalt will have while being very similar. is Carapils a decent sub for the Caramalt or was he bsing?? He's the new guy so I'm just not sure if his advice is as accurate as some of the other older guys who weren't there.
