I just got my element guard kits from Still Dragon.
    http://www.stilldragon.com/element-guard-kit-and-adapters.html

The adapters look good and seem like they'll work well but they are made to work with 1/2" strain relief connectors.

I got these cords and they don't fit the 1/2" strain relief connectors that came with the still dragon setup:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-Line-Cord...550?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d632c3ce

I have 3/4" strain relief connectors that work perfectly with the cords but won't fit the element adapter:

Has anyone else had this problem with the Still Dragon element guard kit? One thought is to have the guard kit machined to work but I would love to hear a better (cheaper and easier) idea if you have it.

I need to grab some 10/3 and make sure it fits mine. Hoping I don't have to hit you up for couple:D

*edit* man that's a good price for cord and plug. If I didn't already have the plugs..............

Hell yes. I didn't really need another L6-30, but that was too good to pass up. That is high quality cable.

I have been using PG series glands for strain relief, which are IP68. They come in a range of sizes. PG24 fits most 30-50A cables, but might be too wide for the StillDragon adapter.

Just got back from HD - $1.79/foot! Did the "make offer" at $16, and got two.
AND, didn't have to fork out 8.5% for the governor.

    Anybody need any plugs?

They sent the wrong ones but they should work. I also ordered the plastic version before I found the metal ones. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006N2U0FE/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20).

I wasn't able cancel them in time and I got them Saturday. I tried them out and they will work great. I prefer metal so I'm waiting on the new shipment.

Either version is way better than the connector from Still Dragon. Everything else from them is great.

You should let them know. They will want to improve the product.

I emailed them to ask if they had heard of the problem and they hadn't. I followed up and let them know what I found.

Sweet. You have any of the metal ones you want to unload?

No more metal connectors. They were swept up right away. Sorry.

PG16 cable glands also work well with the still dragon element housings and 10/3 wire.

I went with the plastic ones from Arlington. I pickled up two at Grainger for less than $6. I'm a happy camper.

They should work with the wire but I don't think they'll fit through the hole in the still dragon kit. The OD of the threads is 22.5 mm which is approximately 0.93". This is dimension D1 here:
    http://www.cableglandsdirect.com/pg16.html

The hole size in the adapter is for a 1/2" conduit so the actual diameter should (I haven't measured) be 7/8" or 0.875".

I don't have any PG16 cable glands and haven't tried them with the still dragon kit but I don't think they would work.

they work fine. I have them installed on mine. the hole is actually oversized for 1/2" conduit

Perfect. Glad to hear the pg16 works. That definitely would have been a cheaper option.

They sure had heard about it because I posted it on their forum and emailed directly with them about it: http://forum.moderndistiller.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1032&start=20#p16748
Other than the Strain Relief and maybe the ground lug I have been very happy with it. I replaced the existing Strain Relief with the Arlington Industries 'LPCG50-1' (bought locally at a ACE hardware store) and much happier!
