Are there any problems or special considerations with making a starter one week ahead of time. I'm going out of town and want to brew when I get back ASAP. Thanks.

You should be fine...just toss it in the fridge when its done and when you get back, decant and let sit at room temp while brewing so it has a chance to get to room temp for pitching.

I would do this ^^, But make the starter a little bit larger than usual. If a liter is called for maybe 1.25 liters.

I often am building up starters incrementally over a week or more...nothing to worry about.
