Have anyone tried sparkolloid to clarify the beer after reracking it from secondary? I have searched this forum and all over the web and could not find any answer (but it used for wine clearing).

Will it do the job? Will it not add any bad aftertaste? Will it not kill the yeast?(would be bad for priming).

I ended up using gelatin. Worked perfectly!

I've heard good things about gelatin for beer, wine, cider, and mead. Seems to be a multitasker and I like multitaskers!

does not do much for pectin haze in a fruit wine though

Very true. Haven't done a fruit wine. Most of the time I am just patient and wait. Nothing like a little aging to make the taste better and to allow for clearing.

I have tried to use sparkelloid on beer twice - once on a pumpkin ale, and that did work. The second time on a pale ale, and that did not work. I think it is useful mostly for clearing fruit pectins, but it is worth a shot.
