Smack pack for 1gallon batch

I'm going to be brewing a gallon test batch of a Belgian specialty ale and it's going to be big. According to brewers friend calculator about 1.106 OG. Am I going to be ok using a whole smack pack since it's a big beer or should I split it up. I'm using wyeast 1388 Belgian strong ale yeast.

Best thing to do is visit http://www.yeastcalc.co/pitch-rate-and-starter-calculator#.U0FsxPk7um5 and put in the info including the date of the pack to determine proper pitch rate, while a normal gravity 1 gallon batch would probably be fine, a beer that big may need more cells depending on viability.

 

As long as you are in Brewers Friend look at their calculator also.

 

Thanks guys. Never really had to question wether I would have enough yeast so I have never thought to use the calculators. Seems like a smack pack should be fine.
